While the aristocrats dance at lavish parties and truefolk cling to their comforts, many unbonded scrape together a living, scavenging for crumbs, driven primarily by a desperate need to eat. Some were born into poverty. Many are refugees created by the encroaching Ruin or displaced bystanders in the endless struggle between rival houses, brutal syndicates, and guild vendettas.
Without the privilege of the name recognition, funds, or finesse necessary to join a guild, these unbonded often survive by banding together, becoming city pickpockets, country bandits, or networks of informants.
